Morondava Baobab avenue

Baobab avenue or alley of baobab is located near the city of Morondava precisely 5 km it is a group of baobabs which lining in the dirt road between Morondava and the Belo on Tsiribihina river in the region of Menabe in the western  part of Madagascar. This gorgeous amazing destination has been a protected area since 2007. This spectacular complex constitutes a notable tourist attraction and it is one of the most visited sites in Madagascar. A dozen trees 30 meters high lining to this avenue, and most of them are belonging to the Adansonia grandidieri species and which are endemic to Madagascar. Most of the baobabs,which found are  over 800 years old and known as reniala  or mother of the forest by Malagasy language.

arbres n'ont pas grandi isolément dans ce paysage sec et broussailleux mais ont fait partie d'une forêt dense aujourd'hui disparue (il ne reste plus que 10 % de forêts primaires dans le pays). Au fil des années, avec l'augmentation de la population du pays, les forêts ont été abattues pour l'agriculture, laissant seulement les baobabs, que les locaux préservent aussi bien par respect que pour leur valeur en tant que source de nourriture et matériaux de constructions2.
